ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Class of 91... We are one year away from our reunion...yes...that means that we are not having the reunion this fall! Thanks for all who voted!! Our reunion will be Summer 2011. We would like to have all of your input and as much help as we can get to make this event memorable!! So, with that being said, lets have a Homecoming Night Celebration THIS YEAR to kick off festivities! Several people had mentioned that they would like to still get together to start planning...so in conjunction with the help of MHS...we are going to have a WELCOME BACK CLASS OF '91 NIGHT!! It is tradition at MHS to have 20 yr graduates come back for the halftime. They invite cheerleaders, football players and homecoming queen and princess. Since this will be going on anyway, we've decided to invite all of you to join the CLASS of '91 for a tailgate before the game and then have families and classmates sit together during the game:) We will have sign ups for ideas, volunteers, etc the night of the game!! 

Bring your family, a bag of chips, pop or pkg of hot dogs (only one of those) and lots of ideas!! Our hopes are to either have the school make their famous chili and cinnamon rolls OR see if Steak and Shake will donate! We will keep you posted!! Can't wait to see you!!

Friday, September 17th... 5pm...MHS parking lot (there will be a designated spot)

Game time : 7pm

Halftime:  Please let me know if you have not been contacted by MHS and you were a cheerleader or football player! They will want to know all about you:)

The tax increases steeply after $100,000 to as high as 40%

Dow Reaches Peak of 381.17 3rd September ( 1929 ) The Dow Jones industrial average closed at 381.17, this was the peak of the bull market that had been increasing at a phenomenal rate in the 20's and only 1 month before the great stock market crash in October 1929 signaling the beginning of the great depression of the thirties.

Sir Malcolm Campbell Breaks World Speed Record 3rd September ( 1935 ) Sir Malcolm Campbell breaks the 300 mph set a new world record on the Bonneville Salt Flats of Utah with his 2,500 HP Bluebird and beat his own previous world record of 276.82 mph that he had set earlier in the year.

Typhoon Ike 3rd September ( 1984 ) Typhoon Ike with winds approaching 185 mph strikes the Surigao del Norte province in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao. The typhoon is thought to have killed over 3,000 and left more than 500,000 homeless in addition to completely destroying the countries staple crop of coconuts trees. The President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos has refused all offers of assistance from outside the country.

Britain and France Declare War On Germany 3rd September ( 1939 ) In response to Hitler's invasion of Poland, Britain and France, declare war on Germany
